Todd E. Creason will be providing a short talk for member education at Normal Lodge No. 673 during their regularly stated meeting. The topic is on Mentorship, and the meeting is open to Master Masons.
Todd E. Creason will be the keynote speaker at the Illinois Council of Deliberation meeting in Springfield, IL on June 24 where he'll discuss the 300th anniversary of Freemasonry. He'll also be giving a short talk at the Meritorious Service Award dinner.

Todd E. Creason was recognized as a member of the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of Illinois' Circle of Excellence along with Gregory Knott and Brian Pettice. They were acknowledged because of the work they've done establishing a new chapter of the Royal Arch--Admiration Chapter. Admiration Chapter will receive its charter in June 2017 at the annual York Rite meeting.
Todd E. Creason and Gregory Knott were honored to present a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. They were accompanied by Masonic Society President Kenneth Davis, and Past President James Dillman. Greg Knott's photographs of the occasion along with a short piece written by Todd will be featured in The Journal of the Masonic Society in their Spring 2017 issue.
Todd E. Creason announced that he's back to writing about Freemasonry full time. Beginning in May, the From Labor To Refreshment blog is back in its original form, on the topic of Freemasonry, and Todd will be posting pieces on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Todd will also continuing writing on the Midnight Freemasons two or three times a month, and they will continue posting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Between the two blogs, you'll be able to find Masonic light six days a week. Todd is also busy working on several other projects--sounds as if Todd's midnight shift is back up and running at full speed again.

Todd E. Creason will be the featured speaker at the 160th rededication of Pekin Royal Arch Chapter No. 25 in Pekin, IL. Rumor has it he will be introduced by none other than his long time rival, Past Most Excellent Grand High Priest of Illinois, the Illustrious Brother William J. Hussey, 33.
Todd E. Creason was installed as Sovereign Master of the Eastern Illinois Council No. 356 of the Allied Masonic Degrees at a ceremony at Paxton, IL in December. The Council will next meet in April at the beautifully restored Homer Masonic Temple in Homer, IL.
Todd E. Creason was featured in a video produced by the Supreme Council 33 of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite (NMJ) entitled Seeking Further Light. Todd's segment of the video was filmed at the University of Illinois, at his home, and at one of the Lodges he is a member of, Homer Lodge No. 199 in Homer, Illinois. You can view the video here.
Todd Creason announced big changes for the From Labor To Refreshment blog beginning in 2016. He's been a leading Masonic blogger for nearly ten years and it sounds as if he's wanting to try something a little different. What those changes might be, we'll just have to wait and see, but he indicated that while Freemasonry would continue to be an important topic on the blog, he would be expanding on the topics he writes about.
Todd E. Creason will be participating in the Quarry Project Phase II in Indianapolis September 18th-20th. He'll be sitting on one of the panels as well as giving a presentation called Masonic Blogging: The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.
Todd E. Creason was named a Fellow in the Missouri Lodge of Research during a luncheon and presentation held in Jefferson City, Missouri on May 16, 2015. Midnight Freemason and Past Master of the Missouri Lodge of Research, Steve Harrison did the introduction and presented the award. Todd is only the 15th recipient of that honor since the Missouri Lodge of Research was chartered in 1941.
Todd was featured in a film production for the Scottish Rite NJ. It was a promotional video explaining what the Scottish Rite is and how Masons may benefit from membership. Segments of the film were shot in several locations including the University of Illinois, Homer Lodge No. 199 (IL) and Todd's home. More news will be made available once the film is released.
Midnight Freemasons Todd E. Creason and Greg Knott will be attending Masonic Week in Reston, Virginia at the end of January. In addition to attending a number of events at the annual conference, they will be touring a number of Masonic landmarks in the area, including the House of the Temple in Washington D.C. There is a rumor that Todd and Greg have been quietly working on a project, and this trip to the east coast is related to a book the two are working on together.
Todd E. Creason was recently honored by Governor Steve Beshear of the Commonwealth of Kentucky when he was commissioned an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. Colonel Creason is planning to kick off his duties as a newly commissioned goodwill ambassador for the Commonwealth with a trip to Louisville in the Spring.

Creason was awarded the Illinois Secretary of the Year Award at the Illinois Masonic Secretaries Association Dinner at Muldaner's Restaurant in Springfield, Illinois on October 9, 2014 for his contributions as Lodge Secretary at Ogden Lodge No. 754, and for his work educating both Masons and non-Masons on the subject of Freemasonry through his books, articles, blogs, and public speaking.
Todd Creason has been invited to roast the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the Illinois Royal Arch, William J. Hussey, at a reception in his honor in Effingham, Illinois. Todd is very much looking forward to returning some of the grief his good friend has given him over the years in a very public way.

Todd Creason is only the thirteenth Masonic scholar to receive this prestigious acknowledgement by the Missouri Lodge of Research. Todd Creason and his family will attend the induction ceremony in Jefferson City, Missouri in May.

Now that Todd has finished his third novel Shot To Hell, this is the beginning of a push to begin focusing again on writing shorter pieces and articles.

Also prominent in the guide is the Midnight Freemasons blog and the Robert Johnson's excellent Whence Came You? podcast. After reviewing it, Todd thought it was an excellent guide to Masonic magazines, books, podcasts, etc. Very well done. Be sure and check it out. Bro. Robert Herd, editor of The Living Stones Masonic Magazine has announced that the October 2013 Issue will feature an article by Todd E. Creason. It will be Creason's first magazine article in nearly two years--his focus has been in writing his novels, and as a regular contributor to the Midnight Freemasons blog. There's been no word on what the subject of the article is. You'll just have to get the October issue to find out.

Todd has been asked to officiate a wedding on June 1st. It's not something Todd has never done before, but he's good friends with the family, and very fond of the young couple--so, of course, he accepted the tremendous honor of serving as officiant. In fact, he also wrote the marriage ceremony.

Todd will be talking to Bro. Robert Johnson on his Whence Came You? podcast in an upcoming June episode. Robert Johnson is the managing editor of the Midnight Freemasons blog, and has made the blog very successful. Todd founded the Midnight Freemasons back in 2007. In 2012, Todd, along with many other terrific contributors, turned it into a contributor site. Todd still continues to write pieces for the Midnight Freemasons.

Todd did a marathon interview with Robert Patrick Lewis on the Far From Center(ed) podcast. It was very different from interviews Todd has done in the past. It was a rare opportunity for Todd to talk primarily about the craft of writing and the business of publishing. More often than not interviewers ask him questions mostly pertaining to Freemasonry--and of course Robert Lewis did get around to that subject as well.

Todd is preparing to do his second podcast interview in recent weeks with Robert Patrick Lewis on his Far From Centered podcast. Robert is a published author and Freemason, and the two plan on talking about writing, about the Craft, and about life in general. Robert wrote a remarkable memoir called Love Me When I'm Gone about his experiences as a member of the Green Berets in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other places all over the globe. Todd Creason did a rare hour-long interview about Freemasonry with Moe Bedard, a.k.a. the Gnostic Warrior for his podcast. The interview went into some depth about the truth about Freemasonry, common misconceptions about Freemasonry, and popular Masonic conspiracy theories. Todd E. Creason received a token of appreciate for his writing by the A.A.O.N.M.S. (Shriners) with a beautiful crystal paperweight. Todd has often written about the Shriners on his blog From Labor To Refreshment... and profiled a number of famous members of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine in his Famous American Freemasons books. The crystal award is engraved "Your words define us to the world." Todd remarked, "It's only seven words, but I think it's one of the greatest compliments I've ever been given.

Todd E. Creason announced a third novel in the award-winning Twin Rivers series is well underway. The title of the third novel has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be ready for publication in early Spring 2014. Creason's second novel in the Twin Rivers series, A Shot After Midnight, was recently nominated in several categories for an IPPY award. Asked if this was to be the last of the series, Creason responded, "I like this little world I've created over the last few years. I'm pretty sure as long as the readers want to read about it, I'll be more than happy to write about it."

Eastern Illinois University opened an exhibition entitled "Freemasonry in Central Illinois." Todd Creason was asked to provide background information when the exhibition was originally being researched, and one of the exhibition displays on Famous Freemasons was inspired by his Famous American Freemasons series of books.

Todd's local newspaper, the Danville Commercial-News, (IL) published a story "Family of Writers". Todd is not the only writer in his family. His mother is author Jane S. Creason who has published two books. His grandfather is author Dr. Edwin M. Swengel, who has published two novels. And his grandmother was poet Elizabeth Swengel. Oddly enough, it was the youngest (Todd) and the oldest (Elizabeth) who published first--Elizabeth in 1982, and Todd in 2007.
